Men’s Ministry

In detail

Men’s Ministries is therefore, that department which seeks to develop programmes and a focus for enriching the life of men spiritually, emotionally and socially. Just look at some of these statistics below:

  • By the age of 16 the majority of men have left the church.
  • Most church workers are women and not men.
  • Men in the UK commit the most violent crimes.
  • The majority of men in the church are not baptised in the Holy Spirit.
  • Too many young men claim not to personally know any positive male role models in their families or church let alone the community.
What kind of activities does the Men’s Ministries organise?

Lee Lifebuilders/Men’s Ministry

The purpose of Men’s Ministries, which also includes Lifebuilders for our Young Men, is to give men a platform through which they can understand themselves and develop skills for becoming good role models as Men, fathers, husbands and sons both in the home and the wider society.

Lifebuilders/Men’s Ministry is that department which seeks to develop programmes and focuses on enriching the lives of men spiritually, emotionally/physically, socially and economically. We also mentor other men, supports and at times presents Programmes which deal with issues such as Money matters, Health issues, and motivating men to become more generous stewards, men of purpose who takes their home life responsibly with integrity and full of great potential.

Not to forget our powerful Lee Men’s choir known as the ‘Godly Mighty Men’ that ministers regularly and is available for booking to bless your lives.

In fulfilling the ‘Great Commission’, in Matthew 28: 19-20, we are evangelising men, thereby significantly increasing the male membership of our churches.

Here at Lee Church, LifeBuilders/Men’s Ministry competes in several competitions such as biblical & general knowledge quizzes, social & sports activities including educational training events.

Looking back at several occasions where through God we have been successful as Men working harmoniously, thus achieving the following:

  • Winning the Cricket Cup challenges against other NTCG brothers.
  • Ministered at Lewisham Peoples Day and Lewisham Winter Festival where we opened Christmas lights
  • Success at the National Men’s Ministries Conferences – where we won various awards including Secretary of the Year and Unsung Hero Award.

Come to our local Lifebuilders/Men’s meetings and see what we are about!  We meet weekdays as follows:

Leaders Statement

As a young boy in the 1970s I clearly remember the excitement of watching “The Six Million Dollar Man” on TV. The main character Steve Austin was a former astronaut who suffered near-fatal injuries in an accident while testing a new aircraft. A secret government agency saw him as the ideal candidate to implement their latest technology by replacing limbs and sensory functionality with bionic implants. There was a particular line on the voice-over narrative during the introduction reel of the TV programme, “Gentlemen – we can rebuild him. We have the technology”

In a way, this sums up the purpose of LifeBuilders – our strap line “Building Better Men” is the core of our mission and the vertex of our vision.

In II Cor 12:9-10 says, “My kindness is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak.” So if Christ keeps giving me his power, I will gladly brag about how weak I am. Yes, I am glad to be weak or insulted or mistreated or to have troubles and sufferings, if it is for Christ. Because when I am weak, I am strong.

You may have areas in your life that are fractured, broken, torn, battered and bruised – whether this is a relationship, a business situation or employment crisis I firmly believe that no matter who you are, where you’re from, where you’ve been or what you’ve done, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are in complete agreement when they echo the words “… we can rebuild him [or it] – we have the technology”

We have LifeBuilders groups in the vast majority of England and Wales who are committed to working with you to help you make the necessary choices to become a better man! Our desire is to facilitate life-changing opportunities to impact the lives of others by providing tools for men to live for Jesus at home, at work and in all areas of their lives

Junior Bucknor
National Secretary of LifeBuilders

We are looking forward to greater things in 2019 and will work to encourage and support other men to attend, particularly
our younger brothers including those from our brother/sister Churches in the Lee District.
